Hailed by the New York Times as "startlingly imaginative" and widely acclaimed wherever it performed, Shen Wei Dance Arts is founded upon a fusion of art forms: blending modern dance with elements from the theater, visual arts, Chinese Opera, philosophy, and architecture. Apart from repeated engagements at the American Dance Fesitival, Lincoln Center Festival, Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts and the Venice Biennale, Shen Wei Dance Arts has appeared in renowned festivals in the U.S. and around the world. Shen Wei was also a lead creative consultant for the opening ceremony at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing.
